Getting Over Addiction

Have you ever told yourself that you were only going to have a couple of drinks only to find that at the end of the night you had closed down the bar? Have you ever told yourself that you weren’t going to drink at all and suddenly looked down to see a drink in your hand? Have you ever went out to have a good time to go see a band or go to a party and woke up the next day not knowing where you were or how you got there? If you answered yes to any or all of these questions, then you are not alone. You may be one of the millions of people who suffer from a disease called Alcoholism.

You may be saying to yourself, how do I know if I have this disease called Alcoholism? Well, that’s why I am writing this article. My goal at this point is to simply inform people who may be afflicted.

There are many people out there who would be more than happy to ask you some questions and give you your diagnosis that you are an alcoholic. I believe that this can be good in some cases. But what I have learned about Alcoholics is that we generally don’t listen to other people. We must come to believe on our own that we have a problem.

I could never give anyone all the information they need in a few articles. So, I will attempt give just a brief overview. If you are an Alcoholic, then you are doomed. There is no cure for Alcoholism. Once you have contracted the disease, you will have it for the rest of your life. The sooner you get on board with that idea the better off you will be.

There is hope! Alcoholism is treatable. And I would like you to know that there are millions of us Alcoholics who have recovered and lead happy productive lives. You could be one of us, if you choose to.

More articles will follow that will outline the procedure that I and many others have followed to happiness and freedom. There is a better life out there for you if you are ready to reach for it and follow some direction from those who have gone on before you. There are many of us out here who want nothing more than to see you recover from that miserable existence that we live through during our using. You are not alone. Hang in there. Things will get better if you work for them.
